Back then, when we were friends To the end, you promised we'd always be Now it seems you've got a different dream Thanks for including me You spell WE so differently
Given up on what? On God? No. On my friends? No. On life? Absolutely not. On Gareth being my friend? No.
That song doesn't say "given up" as much as it does "disappointed" - at least, not in the way I meant it. I'm somewhat disappointed because I believe I've more or less lost a dear friend. I have written a few discouraged entries lately, that is because about this time two years ago I was excitedly prep'ing for the trip on which I met Gareth. Once I got my "moaning" over with and asked God what to do about it, He told me clearly. The thing about figuring things out with God is that He can give you peace and joy; that's one of the things I love most about Him.
I'm 5'3" of nutty little human being, and sometimes that feels really lost - usually that's when I forget that I've got the biggest thing anywhere on my side: God. Once I remember Him, "there's sunshine even on days when it rains".

"Back then, when we were friends..."
That's what made me feel as if you had just given up on it. (The friendship.)
"To the end, you promised we'd always be
Now it seems you've got a different dream
Thanks for including me"
That kind of confirmed in my mind that you had given it up because by those words it seems you feel the other side has given up on it as well.
"You spell WE so differently"
You will always have YOUR spelling of WE tucked deep inside your heart forever.
Sorry for the misinterpretation, probably had alot to do with my mood at the time.
5'3" little nut. {=0)
